Ned Poins

Character Analysis

Poins is one of Prince Hal's low-life sidekicks. In Part 1 of Henry IV, he helps Hal play a mean trick on one of the tavern drawers and is also the mastermind behind the double robbery at Gads Hill. In Part 2, Poins is a sounding board for Prince Hal, who confides in Poins that he's sad about his father's illness and worries that he's become too accustomed to slumming with the commoners.
