"From the mouths of babes"

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

Context

This line is written by David in Psalms 8:2.

This psalm is talking about how powerful God is. Can't nobody beat him, and a baby on God's side is stronger than a mighty soldier who goes against him. Could you imagine watching that battle though?

Where you've heard it

Hang around little kids long enough, and they're sure to say something profound (or at least funny in a sorta profound way). Great time to use this quote.

Pretentious Factor

If you were to drop this quote at a dinner party, would you get an in-unison "awww" or would everyone roll their eyes and never invite you back? Here it is, on a scale of 1-10.

As long as there's an actual babe involved (a kid, we mean), this one's a gimme.
