Source: "Burning Love"

Speaker: Elvis Presley

I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love.

Context

This line was sung by Elvis Presley in the song "Burning Love," written by Dennis Linde, from the album Burning Love and Hits from His Movies, Volume 2 (1972).

Even in the twilight of his career as an American music icon, Elvis Presley could still croon a love song and rock a shiny white Hawaiian shirt like no mere mortal has before or since. "Burning Love" was originally written for soul artist Arthur Alexander, but Elvis' cover has easily eclipsed the original with its high flying guitars and lyrics that will make any pyromaniac smile.

Where you've heard it

This song is an important part of any retro diner's jukebox playlist, but if you've never been to an old diner then maybe you became familiar with Elvis through Disney's Lilo and Stitch. Former Experiment 626 is easily our favorite Elvis impersonator.

It's not really Elvis-related, but Burning Love was the title of a Yahoo Screen TV show parody of The Bachelor. It's quite outrageous.

Pretentious Factor

If you were to drop this quote at a dinner party, would you get an in-unison "awww" or would everyone roll their eyes and never invite you back? Here it is, on a scale of 1-10.

Elvis is always a great musical choice. However, don't quote this one around your literal-minded friends, or they might grab an extinguisher.
