Speaker: Pam De Beaufort

"My mad face and my happy face are the same."

You don't know me that well. My mad face and my happy face are the same.

Context

This line is spoken by Pam De Beaufort, played by Kristin Bauer van Straten, in the TV show True Blood (2008-2014).

Even if you didn't watch it, you probably know True Blood as HBO's hit horror/soap opera, set in a world where vampires have come out of the coffin and into the real world. This quote is spoken by Pam De Beaufort, the bar-owning vampire with a lot of bite.

The quote comes in an episode called "Somebody That I Used to Know," where, after her vampire progeny, Tara, gets in the face of a rude customer at the vampire bar, Pam has to tell Tara to behave herself. Later, however, Pam has the customer chained in the basement, ready for Tara to feed on. When Tara says that she thought Pam was mad, Miss De Beaufort answers with one of her typically spiky quips.

Where you've heard it

Maybe you've seen someone walking around in this t-shirt. We figure this counts even if it does misquote Pam by saying "angry" instead of "mad." (Let's make our pop culture references accurate, people.)

You might've also seen a gif floating around Tumblr of the ever-entertaining Pam. Come on, HBO—is a Pam spin-off too much to ask for?

Pretentious Factor

If you were to drop this quote at a dinner party, would you get an in-unison "awww" or would everyone roll their eyes and never invite you back? Here it is, on a scale of 1-10.

This one's guaranteed to get you laughs, especially if you can do it in Pam's accent.
