One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Quotes

Context

This line is spoken by Chief Bromden, played by Will Sampson, to R.P. McMurphy, played by Jack Nicholson, in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (directed by Milos Forman, 1975).

Juicy Fruit. It's gonna move ya. Sometimes down a ski slope, sometimes into a mental health institution.

In One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, we're not sure if Chief Bromden is into winter sports because he's not into talking. He pretends to be deaf and dumb (i.e., silent) right up to the point when McMurphy offers him a stick of gum. 

Juicy Fruit movies him to reveal to McMurphy that he can talk and hear just fine.

Where you've heard it

No one ever says "Mmm, Juicy Fruit." 

Why? Because its flavor is gone almost instantly. That's why McMurphy offers Bromden another piece about three seconds after he chews the first one.

Pretentious Factor

If you were to drop this quote at a dinner party, would you get an in-unison "awww" or would everyone roll their eyes and never invite you back? Here it is, on a scale of 1-10.

This scene is a lot less annoying than your average modern-day Juicy Fruit ad, but what isn't?
