"Oh my god, they killed Kenny!"

Oh my god, they killed Kenny. You bastards!

Context

This line was first spoken by Stan when aliens kill Kenny in the first episode of South Park, "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe" (1997).

South Park introduced us to four sweet little children in the sleepy burg of South Park, Colorado. All was normal until aliens came to probe Eric Cartman, at which point some foul-mouthed craziness broke loose.

When those aliens zapped orange-jacketed Kenny into oblivion, his friend Stan yelled, "Oh my god, they killed Kenny!" and Kyle shouted at the space craft, "You bastards!" In the next episode, Kenny was fine, but like Sisyphus and his boulder, poor Kenny was doomed to be killed again and again...and again.

Where you've heard it

Whether it's death by dodge ball, electrocution, Fonzie, the Grim Reaper, Ozzy Osbourne, spontaneous combustion, demon, pile of rusty nails, large fan, monkey, mosh pit, or any of the approximately 187 other ways Kenny dies, this line, or a variation of it, is said in almost every episode of the first five seasons of South Park—and many more after.

Pretentious Factor

If you were to drop this quote at a dinner party, would you get an in-unison "awww" or would everyone roll their eyes and never invite you back? Here it is, on a scale of 1-10.

Not appropriate at a real-life crime scene, funeral, or wake, but fine to quote in relation to any sort of fictional death.
