Source: The Walking Dead

Speaker: Daryl Dixon

Shoot me again? You best pray I'm dead.

Context

This line is spoken by Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, in the TV show The Walking Dead (2011).

Zombies aren't the only creatures who are almost impossible to kill. Everyone's favorite zombie outbreak survivor, Daryl Dixon, also seems to be immortal. In the The Walking Dead season 2, Daryl falls off a horse, tumbles down a cliff, bangs his head, and impales himself on an arrow.

But like Wile E. Coyote, he somehow survives. Is it any wonder that Andrea, another survivor, mistakes him for a zombie and shoots him?

Daryl survives the gunshot, too. But that doesn't mean he's happy about it. When he's recovering, he makes a snarky comment to Andrea, "Shoot me again, you best pray I'm dead." We don't know if anyone is that good a shot.

Where you've heard it

You've heard this if you accidentally hurt someone—slamming their leg in a car door, bumping into them with a shopping cart, breaking a bottle over their head (accidentally, of course)—and they warn you to never do it again.

Or when you're playing a first person shooter and accidentally kneecap one of your more irritable teammates? Tread lightly.

It's also on a shirt, which you should totally wear to take a selfie with Norman Reedus at San Diego Comic Con.

Pretentious Factor

If you were to drop this quote at a dinner party, would you get an in-unison "awww" or would everyone roll their eyes and never invite you back? Here it is, on a scale of 1-10.

You're probably not as near-invincible (or beloved by fans) as Daryl Dixon, so this is big talk coming from anyone but him.
