• Violet is playing at Briny Beach when Mr. Poe tells her that her parents have died in a terrible fire. Oh no.
• She stays with Mr. Poe for a short time before going to live with the villainous Count Olaf.
• One day, Count Olaf leaves a note instructing the children to make dinner for his theater troupe.
• Violet and her siblings find a recipe in a cookbook and prepare pasta puttanesca, which Count Olaf does not appreciate at all.
• The next day, Violet and her siblings go to visit Mr. Poe to tell him their troubles with Count Olaf, but Mr. Poe refuses to help them.
• The next morning, Count Olaf informs Violet that she will star as his bride in his upcoming play, The Marvelous Marriage.
• Violet and her siblings try to figure out what Count Olaf is up to by reading law books from Justice Strauss's library, but don't have any luck.
• Klaus later tells Violet Count Olaf's full plan: He means to marry her for real so that he can control the enormous Baudelaire fortune.
• In order to get Violet to agree to the marriage, Count Olaf kidnaps Sunny and hangs her in a birdcage from the top of the tower.
• That night, Violet creates a makeshift grappling hook and tries to climb the tower to rescue Sunny, but is caught by the hook-handed man.
• The next night, Violet forms a plan before going on stage to marry Count Olaf.
• On stage, she signs the marriage document with her left hand, thus making the marriage invalid.
• She reveals her plan once Sunny is safe, though Count Olaf still manages to escape.
• In the end, Violet and her siblings ride off with Mr. Poe in search of a new guardian.
