Anne of Green Gables Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

G

This book is the opposite of steamy…unless you really have a thing for puffed sleeves.

It's set in the late Victorian Era in a very buttoned-up farm town, and people barely talk about their feelings, much less fall in love. Sure, Anne exchanges some significant looks with Gilbert, but the only romance that occurs take place in the romance stories Anne reads and writes, and those stories are more funny than anything else.

So if you're looking for passion that isn't platonic, you may want to find a different book. (We hear they rock some pretty epic puffed sleeves in Fifty Shades.)
