Paul Marshall Timeline & Summary

Before the war, Paul visits the home of his friend, Leon Tallis.
Paul assaults and then rapes Lola Quincey, Leon's fifteen-year-old cousin. The blame for the rape is put on Robbie Turner.
Several years later, shortly after the start of the war, Paul marries Lola.
Sixty years later, in 1999, Paul and Lola are Lord and Lady Marshall, wealthy philanthropists and socialites. Paul is ailing, and Briony, who sees them at a distance, believes he may die soon. We sure hope so.
