Old Man and Young Boy

A lot of readers tend to associate Frost with older age. Most photos that you'll see of Robert Frost were taken when he was an older man. Frost has a large number of poems about old men and only a handful of younger men. This interest in age may have something to do with the fact that Frost lived in an area that still had its footing in the old world. Old age doesn't really mean anything, however, unless it can be contrasted to youth. The young represent such important things to poets: innocence, other-worldliness, and endless opportunity.
