The Past

Hear us out. Throughout the novel, Dicey's clearly haunted by her tough past. Her mother's catatonic, and Dicey struggled to raise her siblings on her own for a while. So as we progress through her story, we see her rise above those challenges and learn to look forward to the future, even if it means donning a bra on occasion.
