Character Role Analysis

Don Quixote

When a book is named after a certain character, you can usually be sure that this character is the protagonist. From page one, we are plunged into the unbalanced imagination of Don Quixote, whose love for chivalry books has inspired him to pick up a sword and ride off into the countryside to become a wandering knight. All of the adventures of this book (with the one exception of Sancho's time as governor) center on Don Quixote and his fabulous dreams of knighthood. He might not always be the dude we like, but we're stuck with him for hundreds upon hundreds of pages, so we'd better get used to the fact that he's our main man.
