Character Role Analysis

Bobby Morris

Bobby gets in his own way in two ways: He's irresponsible and gets Nia pregnant, which puts a major bump in his path, and then he also decides to parent Feather all by his lonesome, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it seriously gets in the way of life as he's always known it. So instead of a classic bad guy antagonist in this book, instead we have Bobby tripping over his own feet. Good thing he's the protagonist, too, so he can get things back on track for himself. Way to be your own hero, Bobby.
