Jean Louise returns home from New York City.
She argues with her aunt, and then goes out to dinner with Henry.
After dinner, Henry and Jean Louise go swimming at Finch's Landing.
Rumor spreads that they were nekkid.
Jean Louise doesn't care about rumors in Maycomb society.
But she does care that her father has a racist pamphlet and attends a racist town hall meeting.
When Atticus agrees to defend Calpurnia's grandson, Jean Louise visits the Finch family's old cook.
She is upset when Calpurnia treats her the same way she treats other white people.
Jean Louise confronts Atticus about his racist beliefs, and they argue.
She tells him she can never listen to him again. She is too betrayed.
Her uncle Jack arrives, hits her, and convinces her to make up with her father.
She does, and they seem to live happily ever after.
