October: The Big Championship
- Somebody had better take this girl to the ball game, since the Dodgers took the divisional championship and are in the running for the World Series. This is the big time.
- Every day, Shirley and her friends run to Mr. P's after school to listen to the game.
- It gets so intense that, when Tommy insults the Dodgers, he gets in real trouble with the group.
- When the Dodgers tie the series, hysteria ensues… but then they lose the big one. Maybe next year?
