Silas Wegg/Mr. Venus

In the beginning, Wegg and Venus are partners looking to get rich by snooping around Mr. Boffin's house. But once Wegg decides to blackmail Mr. Boffin, Mr. Venus listens to his conscience and decides to undermine Wegg's immoral plan. Venus meets secretly with Mr. Boffin and gives him the chance to meet Wegg's plan head-on. By the end of the novel Venus is rewarded for his moral stance by marrying the girl he loves… and Wegg ends up in a dumpster.
