Brain Snacks: Tasty Tidbits of Knowledge

Ever wondered what Edna St. Vincent Millay and Willa Cather have in common? We know, we know – it's probably been keeping you up at night. Before you lose any more sleep, though, we'll just tell you. It's 1923. Still confused? Well, as it turns out, that's the year when Cather and Millay both won the Pulitzer Prize. St. Vincent Millay was the first woman to win a Pulitzer for poetry. We probably don't need to remind you of the fact that she was writing at the same time as Ezra Pound, Robert Frost, and T.S. Eliot, either. In other words, she had some pretty stiff competition (source).

If you're not creeped out by the Lincoln bedroom or those tours that let you live in old Scottish castles, then you'll probably get a kick out of this. The hotel where Millay first recited poetry now has…a Millay room. And you can stay there – for a healthy fee, of course (source).
