Joan

Joan is the undisputed protagonist. That's probably not such a big surprise since the play is called Saint Joan. The play is a chronicle of her life, death, and legacy. She is the cause of everything that happens. She pushes Charles and his allies to get the lead out and face the English. She chooses to continue the fight without them. She chooses to die instead of being imprisoned for life.
