Shock Rating
Not Rated (but would probably be PG)
Sunset Boulevard deals with sex in a big way, since the central conflict of the movie involves a screenwriter who becomes a gigolo to a former silent-era movie star. But we don't actually see any sex—the movie came out in 1950, so a prolonged sex scene between William Holden and Gloria Swanson probably wasn't really on anyone's mind. Even so, given that it has this adult theme and a famous scene with Joe's corpse floating in the pool—not to mention Norma's suicide attempt—you could probably rate the movie PG.
