Character Role Analysis

Puddleglum

Once the owls realize that giants are to be involved in the quest, they immediately find a fellow more suitable for the job of helping Eustace and Jill. In fact, they could not have chosen a better creature than Puddleglum the Marsh-wiggle as a guide for the kids. Despite his protests to the contrary, Puddleglum is a levelheaded and experienced Narnian who offers the children sound advice on How to Deal with Strangers, Where to Lodge for the Night, and How to Face the Probability of Certain Death.

Jill and Eustace never much care for his wisdom—but that doesn't mean he isn't on point, anyway.
