Character Analysis
Mr. and Mrs. Finney are Mary Lou's loveable parents. They are nothing like the Winterbottoms. In fact, they are the complete and total opposite of the Winterbottoms. Their household is absolute chaos. Mr. Finney reads his book in an empty bathtub. Mrs. Finney takes naps on the roof of the garage. They aren't your average parents, that's for sure. But they always seem to be having such an amazing time together, and they love their children a whole darn lot. Their affection reminds Sal of the way her own parents were before her mother lost the baby and left home.
