Disneyland opened in Anaheim, California, on this day in 1955. If you listen closely to the telegraph at the Disneyland Railroad Station in New Orleans Square, you'll hear the opening lines of Walt Disney's opening day dedication speech tapped out in Morse code: "To all who come to Disneyland, welcome. Here, age relives fond memories of the past, and here, youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future" (source).
