Title IX was enacted on this day in 1972, giving female college athletes like softball stud Jennie Finch an equal opportunity to kick some butt. Finch, a pitcher, posted an astonishing sixty-game winning streak across a two-year stretch at the University of Arizona, led her team to an NCAA championship in 2001, and finished with a 119-16 record. Then she helped Team USA bring home Olympic gold in 2004 and silver in 2008 before spending six seasons with the Chicago Bandits. And that's what it means to throw like a girl.
