Burnout and turnover rates are high (source). Part of the problem is that the hours are exhausting, especially with all of the traveling and the time spent reading applications (which is pretty much the entire year between the two).
There's also the low pay. If you can make it work, great. If not, you may soon be looking to break into a new field.
