Stress

Your number one stress issue every day will be the people you have to deal with. It's not necessarily their fault; unless someone is registering their brand new car or getting their first driver's license, no one wants to be at the DMV. Sometimes, they'll have to wait for half a day before they finally get to leave.

One tactic that can help you in your daily life is actually listening to people. Usually, they're already mad at the fact that they have to be there, so they just want someone to understand what they're going through.

On top of that are the non-people-related issues you have to deal with. Governmental filing is only as good as the people doing the filing, so if Mortimer Drubbins forgot to mark "deceased" on a profile in 1982, it could come back to be your problem when his granddaughter comes in demanding to know why she owes $450,000 on someone else's parking ticket.

If the computer systems of an office haven't been updated in five years, IT and software issues will pop up on a regular basis―which you'll be fine with when you work in IT, but will destroy your will to keep working if you're anyone else.

Long story short, if you decide to make the DMV your home for life, we suggest extended yoga practice, or perhaps weekly shiatsu massages. Thankfully, your health care will probably cover that.
