Stress

For the most part, you're not staring down a particularly large amount of stress working the field of genetics. Sure, there might be a number of failed experiments, and one or two days when you're not quite sure what the status of your funding is, but the stress these blips pack onto you aren't especially noteworthy.

If you're working clinically, you can likely expect longer hours—though not so long that you can't enjoy those paychecks and spend time with the fam after five. If you're on the genetic counseling side of things, it's pretty much the same. No job is stress-free, but there's not much about working in genetics pushing up the average.
