Power

As we said before, it's the new millennium; the actual social power of a glass blower has diminished somewhat (understatement of the year). Other than the ability to set their own hours—which is nice, don't get us wrong—glass blowers have neither influence on the world around them nor much power to direct the course of their own lives.

Of course, if you look at it in a very specific light, you're one of the more powerful people in the world. After all, you turn sand into glass, and glass into useful items like glasses and, uh—glasses (real creative on those names, English-speaking ancestors). We realize it's chemistry and science, but if you want to call it "magic," we're not going to stop you.
