Your odds aren't terrible...but that's the best you're going to get for any job that doesn't require a special degree. There are only so many liquor wholesalers out there, and a lot of people would enjoy being the person who gets to extol the virtues of one whiskey over another.
Your chances improve if you're the kind of person they're looking for. The best salespeople tend to be charming, attractive, well-dressed, well-spoken, and knowledgeable. You don't have control over all of those (sorry), but the ones you can control are the ones to concentrate on. Present yourself well.
