Odds of Getting In
Timing is important, here. Obviously, breaking into this field will be easier at the beginning of an election cycle than six months before voting begins. Fortunately, election efforts often begin right after the last one ends.
Local elections happen more frequently, and are a good way to build field experience, if you want to bump it up a notch in the future. Be sure to network with people currently involved in a campaign, and possibly try to land a mentor for guidance. Kind of like a more conventionally-dressed Dumbledore.
