It is very stressful trying to break into the business with its myriad of fake promises and false starts. The bottom line is, you will still need to come up with the rent and car payment at the end of the month. Otherwise, no place to live and no car to live in either.
Even if you do “make it” in the biz, there’s always stress when money is involved. That rewrite better get turned in on time and it better be fantastic, and the picture better be a hit or else you may never sell another script again and then what will you do?
Also, once you sell your script, the owners can do whatever they want to it, including hiring another writer to rewrite the entire thing and set it in Sweden. Be smart, don’t get too attached.
