Remember those needles and shears we mentioned in the last section? Most of the time they'll be pointed at you. The phrase be careful may be a massive understatement here.

So you sewed over your finger—no biggie. Just try to sew just the cloth next time. Seriously though, there's always the risk of workplace injury. From sewing your finger to electrical shortages, the tailor's workspace is an accident waiting to happen. If you're not careful with those pins, you could turn yourself into a human voodoo doll.

And then there are the more long-term dangers. Arthritis in the fingers, hypertension, back problems. Oh, and there's a thing called tailor's bunion. You know it's bad when there's a physical deformity named after your profession.
