If you make it big as an accountant, you might get a tax loophole named after you. Hey, you can dream. In reality, you might not make it to the big leagues and be known for all eternity on the dreaded April 15th. After all, there's a reason under half of the people who major in accounting end up enjoying their jobs.

For one: It's stressful. Calculating numbers and doing taxes year-round? That can be a headache for some people. What's more is that accountants have to know absolutely everything about tax law, economics, and finance, all at once. There's a lot to keep up with even after university ends.

Still, not all accountants hate their jobs. They often make decent salaries. Besides, they have job security that many majors can't brag about. Even when the economy's down and people are cutting out all the frivolities from their budgets, they still need accountants to help them with their taxes.

Since death and taxes are the only certain things in life, it seems that so are accountants.
