If you're considering this major for the mountains of money you'll make, we advise you to turn around because you're pretty far off. Although most agriculture majors won't go hungry (since they can grow their own food, right?), their median pay rate is 10K below what most college grads make. Once you factor in the satisfaction rate of 62%, you see a pretty unremarkable major in terms of the cold, hard numbers.

On the other hand, the unemployment rate is a saving grace. Outside of the health and education industries, the agriculture business has the lowest rate of penny-pinching, paycheck-to-paycheckers. With the increasing pressure from the ever-growing population of our fair planet, you can expect that number to stay steady or even shrink.

As an agriculture major, you get to go to work every day knowing you're helping people. Whether you're fighting for citizen's rights, or simply growing food to put on people's tables, it's a pretty tasty gig.
