Business Administration: 51%

General quality of life statement

While most college graduates continue to eat Ramen noodles for a few years post college, Arts Management majors have a wealth of good paying career options. An arts management degree is a great reason to brag at your high school reunion. Just wait until your old friends have got punch in their mouths to tell them you're the Producer of Jay-Z's next album.

According to the statistics you've just read, graduates with an arts administration (general business) degree have an unemployment rate of only 5.3%. That's much lower than the national average.

Then there's your pay. The median salary for arts management majors is pretty hefty: $79,663. That's enough money to buy some serious bling and a jacuzzi...under the right circumstances, anyway. (Hey, we don't control the economy.)

What does all this mean for you? Hopefully, with your skills, you will be able to avoid the dreaded paycheck-to-paycheck syndrome that befalls many recent college graduates. You've done the hard work in college and so will be able to reap the rewards in the real world.

The catch? On average, one out of two arts management majors are unhappy in their jobs. We think that's likely because those graduates didn't put their skills towards something they were truly passionate about. They wanted to work for a non-profit, but ended up pounding pavement to recruit artists for The Nowheresville Film Festival instead. Make sure to put some thought into where you really want to end up, and you'll do just fine.
