Famous Athletes

Tracey Fuchs. Most people are lucky to be Field Hockey Athlete of the Year once. Fuchs, a University of Connecticut graduate who won an NCAA championship by her second season, did it twice. She's also got the most caps in U.S. history (269), participated in 268 international matches, is a two-time Olympian, a three-time All-American, has been on four World Cup squads, and played in the Pan-American Games. No big deal.

Pam Bustin. She came out of the University of Massachusetts hot—like somebody had lit her cleats on fire—and went on to play in (take a deep breath if you're reading this aloud) the 1990 World Cup, the 1992 Olympics, a Champions Trophy tournament, and two Pan-American Games. She was on Team USA for seven years and has earned seventy-eight caps. Now that's field hockey greatness.

Kate "Tiki" Kinnear. This lady is unstoppable. After playing for the University of North Carolina, Kinnear captained in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and played in three World Cups and three Pan-American Games. She liked the latter so much that she took home three silver medals as souvenirs.
