Gameplay is pretty much identical for men and women. The tee box is slightly closer to the hole for women, though it's not like LPGA star Michelle Wie needs the handicap.

Because of Title IX, there are usually more scholarships available for women. Still, there are 412 more collegiate programs for men than there are for women.

At the Division-I level, there are 294 men's golf programs and 238 women's golf programs. The popularity of the LPGA is slowly changing the gender balance of the sport.
