Bazinga!

Context

This line is spoken by Sheldon Cooper, played by Jim Parsons, in the TV show The Big Bang Theory (2007).

How do you know that Sheldon Cooper is telling a joke?

He tells you—by adding the word "bazinga" at the end of it. Explaining humor never makes it funny, but since Sheldon isn't usually funny to begin with, the fact that he thinks he's funny makes it… funny.

So us explaining why Sheldon not being funny, but thinking he's funny, is actually funny, is really really funny.

Bazinga!

Where you've heard it

You've heard this one from pretty much every character on Big Bang at this point. Catchphrases spread faster than the plague. It's also on t-shirts and stickers (in a variety of colors) and was even referenced in the pilot episode of The Flash (2014).

Pretentious Factor

If you were to drop this quote at a dinner party, would you get an in-unison "awww" or would everyone roll their eyes and never invite you back? Here it is, on a scale of 1-10.

There's a fine line between pretentiously thinking you're funny when you're not and being completely oblivious to your own lacking sense of humor, so we're splitting the difference on this one.
