Speaker: Dr. Cristina Yang

"She's my person."

She's my person. If I murdered someone, she's the person I'd call to help me drag the corpse across the living room floor.

Context

This line is spoken by Dr. Cristina Yang, played by Sandra Oh, in the TV show Grey's Anatomy (2005-).

How much context do you need for one of these doctor shows? We've got some doctors who try to heal people, while also having personal dramas. There you go, now you understand the premise.

This quote comes from Dr. Cristina Yang, who is trying to explain her insanely close bond with her bestie, Dr. Meredith Grey, to her fiancé who just doesn't understand them. Apparently, however, comparing their friendship to murder didn't really translate for the fiancé.

But Cristina and Meredith tend to say the whole "You're my person" thing throughout the entire series, just to remind us all that they are our friendship goals.

(It should also be noted, in case you didn't catch the sarcasm in the full quote, Cristina is not really a murderer, but Meredith would definitely help her drag a body across the floor if she needed to, because what are friends for?)

Where you've heard it

Like a massive amount of Americans, you probably heard it while watching the long-running, hugely popular Grey's Anatomy. Also, since it's a pretty great quote, it has made the rounds in the world of memes and gifs.

Pretentious Factor

If you were to drop this quote at a dinner party, would you get an in-unison "awww" or would everyone roll their eyes and never invite you back? Here it is, on a scale of 1-10.

Sentimentality + jokiness does not = pretentiousness.
