Bryce Loski

Bryce is the main dude in this book. And how do we know this? Well he gets half the book to tell us his side of the story, so that's a pretty big clue. Plus we spend a ton of time hearing about his six-year saga with Juli Baker, so that's another clue. Wherever Bryce goes, we go too. When he tells us about second grade, we're there; and when he recalls the fifth grade science fair, we're right there with him again. This guy is pretty important, so we don't want to miss a thing.

Julianna Baker

Juli and Bryce both get a lot of airtime, so we know that she's a main character just like Bryce. And like our main man, this leading lady takes us along on her journey from second grade to eighth grade. Plus she gives us all the details on all her struggles with growing up. So we get a sneak peak at Juli's broken heart when Bryce chucks her eggs, and we get to learn about how hard she tries to fix up her yard. When it comes to head honchos in this book, you can bet that this girl is a serious VIP.
