Figure Analysis
Another one of Paul's cohorts, Titus is on hand to help Paul out in a jam. When he makes his way to Jerusalem to let the apostles there know that Gentile Christians don't need to be circumcised, he takes Titus with him. Titus just happens to be a Gentile Christian who's not circumcised. Luckily, things go pretty well, and Titus "was not compelled to be circumcised" (Galatians 2:3).
Whew. That could would have been a rough trip.
Titus shows up a couple other times in the Bible. In 2 Corinthians, it's Titus that brings Paul the good news about how the Corinthians have started to shape up—take note, Galatians! Titus also gets his own non-Pauline biblical book: the Epistle to Titus is addressed to him.
