Basically, all of Malcolm's predictions come true. The engineers at Jurassic Park lose control over the dinosaurs and their environments. The island is presumably destroyed, but reports indicate that some dinosaurs have escaped and seem to be able to survive off the island.
Yup: it turns out that nature cannot be contained or conquered, and it was folly to make the attempt.
