Character Analysis
Ms. Galvez is Little Brother's resident Guide/Mentor figure. (Check out more in our Character Roles section). She's also a candidate for Best Social Studies Teacher Ever—either fictional or in real life. Seriously: we'd go back to high school in order to enroll in this class.
She teaches about people making a difference and fighting for causes they believe in—and it's just as inspiring as it sounds. And she's not just an awesomesauce educator. She's also formed a bond with Marcus—he even helps her get around internet security to talk with her brother in the military overseas.
Ms. Galvez is pro independent thinking, which means she clashes with the schools restrictive surveillance regime. (Yet another reason to like her, right?) Even though she loses her job, we learn in the epilogue that a hearing's going to take place so she can get her job back. Get it, Ms. G.
