- Erik asks if Zoey's okay, and she lies and says she is. He sits down and Zoey decides that things are weird enough, so she might as well tell him that she saw him in the hallway with Aphrodite the previous night.
- Erik says he knows, and he doesn't want her to get the wrong idea: He's not going out with Aphrodite anymore.
- Further, he says that Aphrodite reassured him that she was going to tell Zoey about the blood in the goblet for the ritual—you know, so Zoey could decide if she wanted to drink it or not.
- Zoey complains that no one told her that being around blood would turn her into a monster, and Erik explains that normally it doesn't start so early. Apparently Zoey is different.
- Erik says that the first time he drank blood at a Dark Daughters ritual, he thought it was gross and he puked, and figuring something similar might happen to Zoey, he followed her to keep an eye on her.
- But Erik also witnessed the convo with Heath and Kayla. So he asks Zoey if Heath was really in a trance or not. Zoey's not sure.
- Erik gives Zoey a bit more background: Fledglings are not allowed to drink human blood, but they can drink each other's blood if they're curious about it. Erik tells Zoey as he walks her back to her dorm that she's welcome to try his blood anytime, and he kisses her on the wrist sexily.
