- Try this on for size: imagine that this book takes place during a different war. How would that change the story? What if this were about the Civil War instead of the Revolutionary War?
- Tim tells this story from his own point of view. What if Sam told this story instead of Tim? How would the story be different? And how would it be the same?
- These chapters don't have any titles. If you were to give the chapters catchy titles, what would they be? How would your titles reflect the mood of the story?
- How does the Epilogue relate to the rest of the book? Does it make you look at the book differently?
