Character Analysis
This is the only one in the fam who takes Lance seriously. He's a genius when it comes to armor and swordsmanship (although Lancelot ends up surpassing him). Uncle Dap is described as "a genuine maestro" (K.3.2) of chivalry.
He oversees Lancelot's knightly education (working him for three years straight, with breaks only for sleeping and eating) and becomes Lance's squire when he goes to Arthur's court. His real name is Guenbors (we'd go by Uncle Dap, too, if we were stuck with this monstrosity of a name).
