- Jesus Fever is sick. He always thinks it's cold, so Zoo goes out to get some firewood and Joel is left to take care of Jesus.
- When Zoo comes back Jesus makes her bring him his sword, which Randolph's grandfather had given him.
- Joel gets angry with Zoo because she plans to leave as soon as Jesus dies.
- She explains she needs to leave in case Keg ever gets out of prison and comes after her.
- Joel tries to sing "Silent Night," but his voice cracks. Zoo teases him for growing up.
- In the fireplace a nest of little birds falls into the fire and burns.
- Jesus Fever starts talking about fire and water and the Bible, and says it's getting warm.
