The Sneetches and Other Stories Society and Class Quotes

How we cite our quotes: (Story.Line)

Quote #1

"My name is Sylvester McMonkey McBean. / And I've heard of your troubles. I've heard you're unhappy. / But I can fix that. I'm the Fix-it-Up Chappie." (Sneetches.28-30)

Stop and think about how many times you've bought something because it promised to fix one of your problems. Now consider how many times the problem actually went away. The ratio seems a bit off, doesn't it? We guess we're all a little bit Sneetchy.

Quote #2

"Just pay me your money and hop right aboard!" (Sneetches.38)

No pay, no play. But if McBean was really trying to help, wouldn't he just give the Sneetches their stars?

Quote #3

"I'll make you, again, the best Sneetches on beaches / And all it will cost you is ten dollars eaches." (Sneetches.56-57)

And people give the Grinch a bad rap. This is a con artist if we ever saw one.
