About Me

Intro

Helloooooo down there. Can you hear me? Good. I know it's a little hard to hear me from on top of my mountain...but I like it up here and I'm not leaving. So there.

And no, that's not just because it's "party mountain," or whatever the kids have gotten to calling me these days. Yes I do have a bit of a party-school rep, but what can you expect from a college town? I'm the Stifler to your Jim.

Partying may be a bigger aspect of my life than I'd like to admit, but there are other parts of me that deserve a little more attention. For instance, I offer great degrees in education, nursing, speech-language pathology, and the humanities. I am also one of the only universities to offer professional writing as a major and a minor.

If you're not a big partier (or a study hermit), I have over 250 clubs and organizations to join as well as plenty of Division 2 sports to kick butt in. My students are usually the most worked up over football.

Love to eat? Like to eat? Need to eat to live? I know you do at least one of those, and I've got several eateries to choose from. This includes two Starbucks, a Java City, a Subway, the Commons (which has the freshest, warmest, gooiest chocolate chip cookies on the planet), Roongo's, The Husky, Monty's, and the Italian Kitchen. Even if you don't have time between classes for a sit down lunch, the campus food cart has you covered.

Name

Roongo the Husky.

Hometown

Now this is the hardest part to remember, so prepare yourself. I live in...Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. It's a cute little town located in the mountainous ranges of Pennsylvania, close to the Poconos.

The best part about living in a smaller town is that everything you could possibly need is within walking distance; so there's no need for a car (although you are allowed to have one on campus). Plus, anyplace you would need to go you could easily get to by our very own Husky bus system.

Birthdate

Body Type

I consider myself curvaceous, and I'm proud of it. Lets just say that Sir Mix-A-Lot would enjoy my company. There are 10,127 students roaming around my campus. I like to think of myself as juuuuuust right. I'm large enough that you won't feel like you're trapped in a closet, yet small enough that you'll feel like a human being (not just a number).

Not to mention my campus setting is B-E-A-utiful. The dorms and class buildings are centered on our spacious "Quad," which is perfect for throwing around a Frisbee/ball, savoring your lunch, or just enjoying the weather.

Current Living Situation

There are so many different living options on my campus that it's impossible not to find a place to call your "home away from home." I have seven dorms located on lower campus: Luzerne, Lycoming, Elwell, Northumberland, Columbia (a.k.a. Tampon Tower), Montour, and Schuylkill. Freshman and sophomores usually prefer this option, however it's not mandatory.

If you feel like living a little further away from lower campus, I have three apartment style complexes on upper campus: Mount Olympus (MOA), Montgomery Place (MPA), and Jessica Kozloff (JKA). There are also several affordable off-campus apartments located in our quaint little town.

Worried about walking from town or upper campus to class? No worries. We have several bus stops located on upper campus as well as downtown that will take you directly to campus, and it's only a seven-minute drive.

Relationship Status

I have a bit of a big family, that is if you count thirteen sister schools as big. Yup, I am part of the fourteen state schools associated with Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education. You should see us during the holidays...or maybe not.

Having thirteen sisters is pretty tough, and we don't always get along. Out of all my sisters, I consider Shippensburg University my biggest "rival." That is when it comes to who has the best football team at least.

You should apply to me if...

you want to attend the perfect school to just B U. *Insert knee slap here*
