About Me

Intro

Greetings from Boise, Idaho. Or as I like to call it, Idahome. We may be famous for our potatoes up here, but there is so much more to me than just that. Picture it—beautiful mountains, great snow in the winter, and some of the most down to earth people you can find this side of the Rockies.

You know what's even better than the great state of Idaho? Its outstanding institutions of higher education, namely: me.

Located smack dab in the middle of Boise—Idaho's capitol and biggest city—I offer the best of both city life and mountain living. I'm a regular guy who likes to have a good time: rowdy tailgaters with country music and a few beers before a big game is my M.O. Here at Boise State there are lots of opportunities to do just that.

Apart from my awesome engineering and nursing programs, I pride myself on my sports teams. Both my football and basketball teams regularly garner national attention, and I am known far and wide for my famous Smurf Turf. If raging to bluegrass before watching a game played on blue grass doesn't sound like a good time, maybe you're better off sticking to the big cities—I hear they're way more stuck up there.

Name

Buster Bronco

Body Type

I'm one of those people that go to the gym so they can eat whatever they want without getting fat. With over 22,000 students, I'm naturally pretty big. But aside from what might be the beginnings of a beer belly, I'm all muscle. Aside from ragers on the weekends and after big games, I keep pretty active—I play sports with my friends, go hiking in the summer, and snowboarding in the winter. Hey, I'm talking about Idaho here…what else do you think there is to do?

Current Living Situation

Boise living is so cheap that my students live pretty much everywhere. Most freshmen live in my dorms, which range from your typical glorified cinderblock boxes (Chaffee) to newer modern buildings (Taylor)—it's all about the luck of the draw.

Sophomores, juniors, and seniors live in newer school-owned apartments or in the surrounding area in apartments or houses. I'm located just a stone's throw from all the action in downtown Boise, so whether you're on campus or off, there's always something going on around these here parts.

Relationship Status

I'm not the only public university in Idaho—I'm just the only one that matters. My arch nemesis is the University of Idaho, located way up in Moscow, Idaho. We're rivals, but they aren't really good at anything, so it's not much of a competition.

Religion

We leave that to BYU Idaho.

Politics

It's Idaho...I'm located in a pretty conservative part of the country, but Boise has a fair concentration of liberals. Whether you lean to the left or right, you'll be sure to find likeminded individuals among my massive student body. Besides, it's not like I'm a super political school to begin with.

You should apply to me if...

you like a little cold weather and a lot of country music.
